Kamal Abdulla – 75. “A man who took refuge in the magic of words”
The event was attended by prominent artists, intellectuals, media representatives and young people. The host of the anniversary, held on the Mustafa Mardanov stage of the Union of Theater Workers, Honored Artist, Professor Azad Shukurov, greeted the participants and spoke about the rich scientific, creative and public activities of Kamal Abdulla. Then the floor was given to the speakers.
Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Azerbaijan, People's Artist, State Prize Laureate Haji Ismayilov, Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art, Honored Art Worker, Professor Jeyran Mahmudova, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Literature of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Academician Mukhtar Imanov, Honored Art Worker, Doctor of Arts, Professor Maryam Alizadeh and Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater Asgar Asgarov spoke about Kamal Abdulla's glorious life path and his contributions to Azerbaijani science and culture. He expressed his deep gratitude to the organizers and participants of the jubilee event.
After the speeches, Kamal Abdulla's play "One, Two, Ours" was performed by students of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.
The play embodies the hero's desire to find eternal peace. The stage work is based on the conversation of people from two different worlds, their contactless touches, love, regret, anger, argument, and desire to reunite. The performance was greeted with applause. At the end, commemorative photos were taken.
