Maharram Badirzade – 80
On January 13, 2025, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Union of Theater Workers of Azerbaijan organized a memorial day dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Honored Artist, laureate of the "Golden Dervish" award, stage director Maharram Badirzade.
The event, held with the participation of prominent artists, intellectuals and media representatives, commemorated the artist with deep respect and honor.
Speakers – Chairman of the Union of Theater Figures of Azerbaijan, People's Artist, State Prize Laureate Haji Ismayilov, Honored Art Workers, Professors Maryam Alizadeh and Ilham Rahimli, Responsible Employee of the Ministry of Culture Nasiba Novruzova, Honored Artist, Professor Azad Shukurov, People's Artist, Professor Ilham Namig Kamal, screenwriter and director Ahmad Orujoglu, People's Artists Marahim Farzalibeyov and Yasin Garayev spoke kind words about Maharram Badirzadeh and shared their memories about him.
The event also featured excerpts from performances and programs directed by the artist, valuable opinions about him by prominent theater figures Azer Pasha Nematov and Elchin Efendiyev, and excerpts from the play “Lawyers of the Trial” by Mirza Fatali Akhundzadeh (directed by Ramiz Hasanoglu), filmed with the director's participation. At the end of the event, Maharram Badirzadeh's wife Khuraman expressed her gratitude to the organizers.
The event concluded with a commemorative photo session.
