120th anniversary of the Derbent Azerbaijan State Drama Theater
The 120th anniversary of the Derbent Azerbaijan State Drama Theater was celebrated in Baku. On December 3, 2024, a performance was performed in Baku on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Derbent Azerbaijan State Drama Theater.
The comedy "The Thief" based on the play "Midnight Robbery" by M. Mitrovich was performed on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater by the creative staff of the Derbent Theater. The founding director of the performance is Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sarvar Aliyev, the production designer is Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Demir Isaakov, and the music designer is Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Sevda Beybalayeva.
The roles were performed by Mirzaaga Cum-Cum (Musa), Osman Mirabov (Masum), Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Shukufa Malikova (Semeni), Aygun Najafova (Nazi) and Orkhan Aliyev (Police).
Before the performance, the Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Azerbaijan, People's Artist, State Prize Laureate Haji Ismayilov congratulated the Derbent Theater on its anniversary, spoke about the history of this theater, its significant role in promoting Azerbaijani culture, and awarded the Derbent State Drama Theater with the Honorary Order of the Union. Then, the director of the Derbent Theater, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Dagestan Firdousi Asgarov, and the chief director, Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sarvar Aliyev were awarded Honorary Orders for their successful activities at the Derbent State Azerbaijan Drama Theater.
The honorary certificates were presented by the Vice-Chairmen of the Union - People's Artist, Professor Ilham Namig Kamal and Honored Artist, Professor Azad Shukurov.
